Directions from Kona International Airport (12 miles - 25 minutes)

As you exit the Kona International Airport, make a right onto Queen Kaahumanu Highway. Turn right onto Palani Road. Palani Road turns into Alii Drive and you will be in the center of Kailua-Kona town. From town, drive three miles south on Alii Drive. Look for the three-story brown building with a Kona Bali Kai sign facing the road. The lobby is located on the oceanside of the street.

Resort & Reservations

Will my credit card get charged?

Yes, your card will be charged the required deposit at booking. If you are booking a non-refundable rate, your card will be charged the entire stay at booking.

Is there a minimum night stay requirement?

There is a 3-night minimum stay requirement during the periods of October 8 - October 15 and December 23 - January 1.

Are there any additional fees that I should know about?

A one-time, non-refundable reservation processing fee of $30 is applied to each reservation.

For stays, a one-time cleaning fee will apply:

Standard check in time is after 3pm HST and check out is before 11 AM HST.

What are your front desk hours & after hours procedures?

Front Desk hours are from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. If arriving after hours, please call the phone at the entrance gate.

Can I request an early check in or late check out?

You may request for early checkin or late checkout, which will be subject to availability. Fees may apply.

I didn't receive a confirmation. How can I check if my reservation went through?

If you made an online reservation, you will be receiving an email confirmation. Please check your spam/junk mail folder if you have not received anything. To reconfirm your reservation, you can call our customer representative at (800) 367-5004 or send us an email [email protected].

Can I upgrade my room?

Yes, you can upgrade to a larger suite or room with a view. Call us at (800) 367-5004 and a customer representative will be delighted to assist you.

Do you have a resort fee, what is the fee, & what does it include?

We do not charge a resort fee.

Are requests guaranteed?

You may make requests at the time of booking. Please note, requests are not guaranteed but we will do our best to accommodate all requests.

ROOMS

Do you offer cribs?

Yes, cribs are available for $20 per night, subject to availability.

Do the rooms include internet access?

All units offer complimentary in room high speed internet access via cable, some units offer wireless access. There is also complimentary wireless access in the lobby.

Do you have rollaway beds?

No rollaway beds. However, we do offer airbeds which can be rented for $15/night.

Do you provide housekeeping service?

Guests staying 10 days or more receive a mid-stay clean. This includes linen change and cleaning as needed. Additional cleanings can be added upon request. Please refer to the Housekeeping menu received upon arrival.

Do you offer smoking rooms?

All our rooms are non smoking in compliance with state law.

Unfortunately we do not.

What bath amenities do you provide?

Complimentary bathroom amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, facial soap, and body soap.

Do you have a pool and Jacuzzi?

Yes, Kona Bali Kai has a pool and jet spa.

Do you provide beach or pool towels?

Yes, we provide beach towels.

How many floors and elevators do you have?

The Ocean Front building has 4 levels and 1 elevator. All 5 of the buildings on the mountain side of Alii Drive are 3 levels with no elevator access.

What bedding options are available?

All studios include 1 king or 1 queen or 2 double beds. All 1-bedrooms have either 1 double and a sofabed or 1 king bed. All 2-bedrooms have 1 king or 1 queen or 2 twin beds and a sofabed.

Bedding selections are provided by request only and we do not guarantee the requested bedding type. We do, however, do the very best we can to accommodate your requests.

DINING OPTIONS

Do you have a restaurant, if not what are the closest restaurants and distance?

Da Poke Shack is located on site. Additional dining options are located within short driving distance of the resort.

Do you offer in-room grocery service?

No, we do not.

TRANSPORTATION & LOCATION

Do you offer transportation?

We do not offer airport shuttles or transfers. However, transportation is available from the airport to the property including taxis, buses, and car service. Since the Big Island is a relatively large island, we strongly advise that you rent a car during your stay. Castle Guests receive a discount on rental cars.

How close are you to the beach?

Kona Bali Kai is located on Banyans Beach, however, this beach does not have easy access. Magic Sand (La'aloa Beach) is 1 mile south, about a 10 minute walk and 5 minute drive.

How far are you from the airport?

Approximately 12 miles.

Airport taxi service?

Yes, we call a taxi for you as needed and requested.

Do you offer parking?

Parking is available free of charge.

A deposit of 2-nights room + tax and $30 + tax Reservation Fee will be charged at booking. The remaining balance will be collected 30-days prior to arrival. For reservations made 30 to 0 days prior to arrival, 100% of total reservation cost is due at booking.

Castle will provide a full refund (excluding the $30 + tax reservation fee and a $100 + tax cancellation fee) for cancellations made up to 30 days prior to arrival. If a cancellation is made 29 days or less to arrival (including no-shows), all monies collected will be forfeited.

Taxes and Fees

Room rates are subject to Hawaii General Excise Tax and Transient Accommodations Taxes, which currently totals 14.64%.

A one-time, non-refundable reservation processing fee of $30 is applied to each reservation.

For stays, a one-time cleaning fee will apply:

Minimum Night Stay Policy

There is a 3 Night Minimum Stay during the period of October 8, 2017 - October 15, 2017 and December 23, 2017 - January 1, 2018.

Family Plan
    • Children 17 and under stay free using existing bedding; total occupants including children cannot exceed the maximum occupancy of the confirmed room. Noncompliance with this policy can result in a supplemental per person fee an/or immediate cancellation of the right to occupy the unit.
    • Cribs are subject to availability and can be rented for $20 per night.
    • Rollaway Beds are subject to availability and can be rented for $30 per night.
Additional Comfort
    • Free parking is available for 1 vehicle per unit
    • Additional housekeeping services can be requested for a surcharge.
Qualified Rates

To be eligible for a qualified rate (Military, Senior, Kama'aina, Government, AAA/CAA, Commercial, Airline employee, Owner Club, Travel Agent, etc.) guests must present a valid form of identification at check-in. If you are unable to provide sufficient identification, Castle Resorts & Hotels will provide you with the best available rate at the time of check-in.

Prepaid Non-Refundable Rate

Castle offers a pre-pay & non-refundable rate for selected properties at various times. To be eligible for this special rate, the full amount must be paid by the time of booking. All bookings are final and may only be altered by a qualified Castle Employee. Cancellation will result in a full stay charge.

Reservation Guarantee

Castle Resorts & Hotels cannot guarantee requests for specific units but will honor such requests when feasible based on availability at check-in. Castle Resorts & Hotels reserves the right to substitute alternate accommodations of a similar or superior room type. All reservations are subject to change or cancellation if rooms become unavailable for reasons including, but not limited to, natural disasters or other acts of nature, damage to the property or maintenance problems, strikes, owner usage, sale of unit, changes in applicable law, or failure of other guests to vacate as scheduled.

    • Occupancy of the unit is subject to the house rules of the Kona Bali Kai Resort Association of Apartment Owners, which are applicable to all owners, guests and occupants.

    • At least one person from the confirmed party must register at the front desk during business hours and be the responsible occupant for the entire length of stay.
